My Bobblehead Christmas Story

This is a story shared by Josh Winston, he buy some bobbleheads from us this Christmas, we really appreciated the words he sent to us. Thank you so much Josh!

It has been said that “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.” Well, I for one think bobbleheads are the sincerest form of fun! (ok, maybe not THE sincerest, but I can’t look at the little dancing noggins and NOT smile…can you?) This is why I believe the combination of imitating a friend or family member by creating a personalized bobblehead just may be the perfect gift.

It seems that with every passing year, buying gifts for my friends and loved ones gets harder and harder. And the hardest to buy for by far is good ole Mom. (or NANA as she is known to the rest of my family) She is set in her ways and s has all the cookware she needs ( and wants) and clothes shopping for her, well, that’s just impossible. I was tired of always getting her the infamous CANDLE and with Christmas rolling around, I was determined to find someone she would both like and remember.

After searching diligently online and coming up empty, I started asking my friends for ideas. One of them said

“Why don’t you make your own bobblehead of your mom?”

“WHAT?” I replied, wondering if I even heard him correctly. Yeah, I knew what a bobblehead was, but I thought he was telling me to make one myself, and I can’t even color inside the lines, much less make something that would resemble my mom!

“Nooooo dude, it’s a website, you can make custom bobbleheads of anyone. All you need is a good picture of their face, send it in, and they do the rest. They are brilliant. Got one for my brother two years ago and he LOVED it! That thing still sits front and center on his desk at work.”

Immediately, this giddy feeling started from within and I couldn’t help but smile, as I just realized, my whole Christmas list was done! He said the name of the site was CreBobble and I went to check them out. Bottom line, I was blown away by the quality of the custom bobbleheads featured on the site. They looked pretty much EXACTLY like the pics of the people! And to make your own bobblehead, you just had to send them a quality picture, and answer some questions. I figured to sculpt a personalized bobblehead of someone from a pic and ship it was likely a few hundred dollars so I thought I may stick to just getting one for Mom, but when I found out that not only were the bobbleheads less than $70 but the company also gives discounts when buying in bulk, I start gathering pictures of everyone in my family!

I have 2 brothers, each with 2 kids, and my mom and dad. All came over to “Nana’s” house that year for Christmas Eve and I was excited that my special presents arrived 2 days before (thank to CreBobble’s rush creation/delivery option!) I started by handing the little box to my Mom and she began to unwrap…when she pulled out the little custom bobblehead that featured graying hair in a bun, with glasses, and her signature blue dress, a huge smile spread across her face and I KNEW my plan had worked. And when she held up the little figure so everyone could see, a beautiful chorus of “NANA!” filled the air! Yep, the gift was a hit! But it didn’t stop there…when my brother opened his, to the same reaction, everyone else immediately grabbed for their little box that I had given them and before long, our entire family, miniaturized as custom bobbleheads, lined the coffee table! We had a blast creating family scenes, taking pictures while holding our own bobblehead and suffice it to say, this Christmas Eve may have been the most memorable yet.

No, Christmas is not just about the presents…but sometimes…the presents help turn the day into a memory. CreBobble did just that for my family. Maybe for yours as well?
